Angélica “V” to stand trial in case of missing Isla Mujeres girl

Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Angélica “V” will stand trial in the 2022 disappearance of an Isla Mujeres girl. Angélica “V”, the wife of Marcos “C” who until recently was the only suspect in the case, will also be tried for her involvement.

During her Monday arraignment, a Cancun judge found probably cause to move forward to a trial. Angélica “V” will face charges of the kidnapping of then 12-year-old Fernanda “C”, who failed to return home July 21 of 2022 after her dishwashing job in their mom-and-pop taco shop attached to their home.

Fernanda “C” disappeared in July of 2022 from the Isla Mujeres mainland. She never returned home. After numerous searches, her body has never been found.

Neither suspects in the case have cooperated with police in helping to find her. Both remain imprisoned. The trial for Angélica “V” is set to begin in September.
