Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A man who has identified himself as a marine was arrested from an Isla Mujeres establishment for public disorder. Police were sent to the island restaurant after receiving a 911 report of an armed man inside.
When they arrived, they located J.J.V.E. who said he was a marine from the Ninth Naval Region (in the state of Yucatan). Police found him in possession of a plastic replica handgun. He was also reported for being a disturbance inside the eatery located in El Cañotal area after allegedly threatening another man with his gun.
A search of his belongings revealed the plastic replica weapon and one real bullet. He was arrested and removed from the restaurant.
