Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A woman snorkeling in Isla Mujeres waters was taken to Cancun hospital by navy personnel after making contact with a boat propeller. The unidentified woman, who is said to be a national tourist, was medically evacuated by the navy after receiving abdominal injuries from the propeller of a vessel while snorkeling.
The woman was transferred to hospital after being rushed to the Fifth Navel Region of Isla Mujeres by the captain of Casual Cruz, from which the woman was a passenger. According to the Secretary of the Navy, upon arriving at the dock, the woman was reportedly stabilize by medical staff before being transferred to Cancun hospital by ambulance with several abdominal wounds.
It was not clear if her injuries were caused by the boat Casual Cruz or another passing vessel.
