Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — One woman was killed Wednesday after a subject opened fire in an Isla Mujeres bar. The shooting also left one man injured. Police agent Cristian Montenegro said that the wounded man was admitted to island hospital around 4:30 p.m. His health situation was unknown.
According to preliminary information, the shooting took place at the Casa Blanca bar of Isla Mujeres on Wednesday afternoon. The woman who was hit by the random spray of bullets has been identified as Flor N, a candidate in the upcoming elections.
The woman had gone to visit her husband who works at the bar. While inside, someone from outside began shooting. The woman, who is not believed to have been a target, was pronounced on scene.
Police have not announced a possible motive for the shooting or the arrest of those responsible.
