Riviera Maya, Q.R. — A 35-year-old woman has reportedly drowned off a beach in Xpu-Ha. The drowning happened Tuesday afternoon. The unidentified tourist went into the sea swimming around 5:00 p.m. when she began to experience problems.
Despite several other swimmers, no one was able to save her. She was pulled from the sea and left laying in the sand.
Municipal police were called to the scene as was the medical examiner to remove the body. Additional details of the accident were not provided.
