Wisconsin tourist diving on Cozumel has stolen gear returned

Cozumel, Q.R. — Police in Cozumel were able to recover stolen diving equipment and return it to its rightful owner. On Friday, Cozumel Police reported on the return of the dive equipment to an American tourist.

According to their report, the man had his dive equipment stolen from his vehicle the day before. The 63-year-old Wisconsin man saw a social media post of an arrest made by Cozumel police who posted a photo of a subject carrying his bag of dive equipment.

After going to the police station and identifying the bag and items, he was reunited with his stolen belongings. Inside the bag, police detailed a diving regulator, vest, diving shirt, a pair of fins, a pair of diving shoes, two visors, a buoy, knife and a metal detector, confirming at the time of delivery that everything was in order.

The unnamed man was an American tourist from Wisconsin who was visiting the island of Cozumel for the sole purpose of diving.
