Venue suspended after partygoers break health protocols

Cozumel, Q.R. — Cozumel City Council’s Commercial Verification and Ordering personnel placed suspension stamps on a party venue during a celebration for failing to comply with Coronavirus health protocols.

Fiscal elements, with the support of the Quintana Roo Police, went to the premises after receiving an anonymous report. Inside, they found partygoers in violation of the state’s current health protocols.

The head of the prosecutor’s office, Nellif Domínguez, said that the suspension was made to Caribotels, which is attached to the Confederation of Mexican Workers. The agency will be given an administrative sanction.

He said that although parties are not prohibited, it is necessary for people to comply with health measures. The sanction comes at the same time governor Carlos Joaquin has expressed concerns at the rising Coronavirus figures around the state.
