Two Sinaloa men arrested in Chetumal on weapons charges

Chetumal, Q.R. — Two armed individuals from the state of Sinaloa were detained after threatening a woman with a gun when they were driving through the streets of Chetumal.

The incident happened at approximately 4:40 p.m. Tuesday when a woman reported to police that minutes before, one of two men in a black Toyota truck threatened her with a firearm before driving away. Police were quick to locate the vehicle, which they reported finding being driven along Rojo Gómez Avenue.

When asked to pull over, the driver fled and ended up crashing into another vehicle forcing them to stop. Police recovered a loaded firearm from inside their truck. The driver, 20-year-old Cesar Axel N from Sinaloa and his passenger, 46-year-old Cesar N, also from Sinaloa, were arrested. Their gun, ammo, hand held radio and Quintana Roo-plated truck were seized.
