Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun drivers in need of gas are still facing a system failure at many stations. For the second consecutive day, various Pemex stations continue to experience problems with their fuel distribution system.
The stations with the problem are random and have been found at locations mostly on Cobá, Andrés Quintana Roo, José López Portillo, 20 de Noviembre, Nichupté and Arco Norte avenues.
Stations along those avenues have reportedly been unable to dispense gas for over 24 hours. Even though the stations are unable to service vehicles, they are open with staff on wait in hopes the systems begin to work.
Pemex gas station workers reported the system failure began Tuesday around 6:00 a.m. leaving them unable to dispense gas. Pemex runs on a different internal fuel dispatch system than other gas stations, who have been able to operate normally. The failure caused long lines at other stations who picked up the slack.

The federal government has not issued any statement as to what caused the fuel distribution failure or when motorists can expect it to be resolved.
