Cancun, Q.R. — More than 300 people were evacuated Thursday after reports of a building fire. Cancun firemen and other emergency services were at the Tulum Center building due to an electrical fire.

Emergency services responded following a 9-1-1 report Thursday morning. The Cancun fire department reported an electrical short circuit was the cause and that there were no injuries.
“We responded to and controlled a fire outbreak at the Tulum Center building. Our Cancun Fire Department and Cancun Civil Protection teams responded immediately to the report of a fire outbreak, which was promptly contained.
“As a preventative measure, more than 300 people were evacuated, with no injuries reported.
“The incident was caused by a short circuit. We continue working to protect the lives and safety of Cancun residents in the event of any emergency.”
