Chetumal, Q.R. — A crocodile that was seen sunning in the middle of a Chetumal highway has been relocated. The two-meter long croc was reported by numerous passing motorists Monday after they saw him in the middle of the road.
Several men from Civil Protection and the fire department arrived to search for the crocodile after numerous 911 reports. Before they arrive, the large reptile left the warm roadway, but turned into a section of fenced grassy area along the highway.
Since there was a risk of him attempting to cross the busy road, officials set out in search of him. After about 20 minutes of looking, the group of six men found him hiding in highway overgrowth.
The crocodile was bound and carried to the back of a waiting pickup. He has since been relocated.
