Speeding Cancun taxi driver found with handgun, fake taxi stickers

Cancun, Q.R. — A taxi driver who was pulled over for speeding was handcuffed and arrested after being found with illegal items. According to the police report, surveillance police located the speeding taxi moments after a C5 report of firearm detonations was made in the area.

Once pulled over, the questioning police officer brushed up against the unit, noticing that the taxis circulation numbers had moved. Considering it suspicious, the driver was removed from the vehicle and a search made.

During their search, police found the driver in possession of a handgun, two loaded magazines, a set of walkie-talkies and eight fake taxi circulation number stickers. Police also identified that the circulation number on the stopped taxi had been altered.
