Search of Cozumel home reveals narcotics and handgun

Cozumel, Q.R. — A man and a woman were jailed Monday after being arrested by Cozumel police on narcotics charges. The pair were taken into custody after police searched their Cozumel home.

During the search operation, more than 130 bags of various narcotics were located. A loaded gun was also found. In a news briefing, the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office reported that investigating agents from the drug unit seized the narcotics and arrested the man and woman from a house in the El Encanto subdivision.

Police detailed finding a suitcase filled with the drugs. Inside were 31 bags of marijuana, 47 of powdered cocaine, 11 of crystal meth and 28 doses of crack cocaine. Drug paraphernalia and a loaded handgun were also found.

Removed from the home and jailed was Antonio “U” and Yheni “M”. Their home has since been closed with security seals for further investigation.
