Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The body of a man was found shot to death at the end of Rancho Viejo in the San Valentín II neighborhood of Isla Mujeres. The discovery was made Thursday morning around 10:30 in the municipality’s mainland area.
Police found the man’s body laying face down in a green area just off a dirt road. He was found by area residents who lead police to the scene. Police reported that he had been shot four times.
Area residents reportedly told police that they heard gunfire earlier that morning.
Authorities from the State Attorney General’s Office collected evidence before the body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service.
