Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — The report of a foul odor in a green area of Puerto Aventuras lead police to a dead body. On Friday night, police responded to the report of a strong bad smell near a school parking lot.
Once on site, police found a decomposing body. The body was in an advanced state of decomposition suggesting it had been there for several days. The body was transferred to Playa del Carmen for autopsy and possible identification.
Authorities have not made any public comment regarding the discovery. It is not known if the body is male or female or if they are someone believed to be on a current missing persons list.
