Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Nine people were transferred for medical attention after a bus and van crash in Isla Mujeres. The two vehicles collided on the Punta Sam highway on Isla Mujeres mainland.
A hotel bus that had left Cancun and tourist van carrying visitors from Monterrey were involved. According to Policias Cancun, the nine injured were transferred to the Quirúrgica Del Sur private hospital for medical treatment.
According to early reports, the van was hit by the bus at the entrance to an Isla Blanca hotel Thursday afternoon. Firemen were requested at the scene after the driver of the van became trapped in his front seat.
The front driver’s side of the passenger van took a majority of the initial hit. Firemen arrived with the jaws of life to free the driver.
