Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The government of Isla Mujeres says two new public transport stops have been added to busy municipal roadways in a bid to keep users safe. The director of municipal Urban Development, José Nivardo Fernández Martínez, explained that the two new stops have been added along Rueda Medina Avenue next to Playa Centro and the second, next to the Apiqroo (port) facilities.
In total, there are 11 marked public transport stops on the island, he says. Five of which are in the central areas and six throughout the residential sections. The move was in coordination with Municipal Transportation Directorate and Public Safety and Municipal Transit, to ensure public transportation users are safe.
Fernández Martínez pointed out that it is important that people are safe when getting on and off public transport in order to avoid accidents, crowds and traffic jams.
