Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The Navy of Mexico performed the medical evacuation of a cruise ship passenger in waters off Isla Mujeres. On Monday, a man was medically evacuated from the Carnival Vista cruise ship after showing symptoms of having a ruptured cerebral aneurysm.
The medical evacuation took place approximately six nautical miles (11.11 kilometers) northeast of Isla Mujeres. The Secretary of the Navy carried out the medical evacuation. He was transported from the ship to a waiting mainland ambulance at Puerto Juárez where he was transported to a Cancun hospital for specialized medical care.
