National Guard finds packages of cocaine washed up on Riviera Maya beaches

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Personnel from the National Guard have found two wrapped bricks of cocaine washed up on Riviera Maya beaches. The findings were made earlier this week.

One brick was located in seaweed on an Akumal beach, while the second was found on the Playa Azul pier on the island of Cozumel. Both were discovered during routine patrols.

Both packages were wrapped in transparent tape and measured approximately 20 to 25 centimeters long and 13 centimeters wide. They were collected and seized by the Attorney General’s Office. Authorities have not said if the two findings are related.
