Cozumel, Q.R. — Elements of the Municipal Police of Cozumel were left to deal with the finding of two decapitated bodies. The bodies were found early Sunday morning in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood of San Miguel.
An emergency call to 911 around 3:00 a.m. alerted authorities to the discovery in the back of a dump truck. Officers found the plastic wrapped torsos had been covered with branches.
Elements of the National Guard and the State Attorney General’s Office quickly arrived to section off the area. It wasn’t until minutes before 6:00 a.m. that officials finally left the scene as the dump truck was towed away.
Cozumel authorities have not commented publicly on the grisly findings.
