Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The National Guard located an abandoned truck on the side of the highway near Paamul after receiving several reports of looting. The cargo truck, which was carrying dry food and other grocery store items, was reported seen with its back doors open, but no driver.
Motorists alerted police to the situation after seeing people begin to stop and help themselves. The truck was supposed to be headed for a food chain store in Playa del Carmen, however, the driver lost control of the truck and left it stuck on the highway shoulder.
By the time authorities arrived, the content in the back trailer was already in disarray from looters.
