Chetumal, Q.R. — A motorcycle driver was killed in Chetumal after being struck by a heavy duty pickup truck. The accident happened at the intersection of San Salvador Avenue and Andrés Quintana Roo Avenue early Sunday morning.
According to witness reports, the driver of the truck did not stop at the marked intersection. He went through, hitting the motorcycle and dragging its driver for several meters before finally coming to a stop against a city light pole.
Paramedics arrived at the scene, but only to pronounce the unidentified motorbike driver as dead. Municipal Police officers proceeded to arrest the pickup truck driver from the scene of the accident.
