Cozumel, Q.R. — Touring military officers located 13 bricks of cocaine on the east coast of Cozumel Friday. The washed up bricks were found around 3:30 p.m. on Playa San Martín.
Patrolling officers noticed the bricks caught up in the sargassum that had landed on that section of the island. Elements of the Directorate of Public Security and the Secretary of the Navy (Semar) were responsible for securing the found batch of narcotics.
The bricks were eventually removed from the beach and transferred to the Public Security Secretariat of Cozumel where they were tested and positively identified as cocaine. From there, it was delivered to the mainland of Playa del Carmen then transferred to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) in Cancun.
