Chetumal, Q.R. — A man who arrived in Chetumal from Merida was able to escape after being abducted. The incident happened Friday when, according to the victim’s statement, he drove to Chetumal on his motorcycle with a woman.
When they arrived in the city, she introduced him to armed subjects who abducted him. He was driven to a house in the neighboring municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto where he was locked up in a house. However, he was able to free himself and escape.
The unidentified man made his way to the highway where he eventually ran into elements from the National Guard. He was taken to the State Attorney General’s Office where he filed a statement. He was not injured in the abduction.
