Man wanted by Interpol for fraud in Mexico City arrested from Cozumel streets

Cozumel, Q.R. — Agents of the Investigative Police (PDI) in Cozumel detained a man Saturday who was wanted nationwide. The man, identified as Magdi E, was arrested from the streets of Cozumel on an outstanding arrest warrant from Mexico City.

Authorities in Mexico City have been looking for Magdi E who is wanted for fraud. In a statement, the FGE reported that the suspect “was arrested on March 26 at the intersection of Antonio González Fernández and Rafael Melgar Avenues in the municipality of Cozumel.”

The accused is wanted by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol). On Sunday, Magdi E was transferred to the State Attorney General’s Office in Cancun where he will be handed over to Mexico City authorities.
