Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — An armed attack against a mototaxi driver was reported on mainland Isla Mujeres when the driver was intercepted by armed individuals who shot him several times, leaving him dead at the site, while his female passenger was forcibly taken.
The shooting occurred in colonia Del Bosque on the Continental Zone Monday afternoon. Ministerial elements and personnel from forensic medical were on scene to carry out the first investigation. Elements of the police, in conjunction with the National Guard, carried out a joint operation to find the whereabouts of the woman. So far, only a red car was found abandoned at the end of Rancho Viejo Avenue in the mainland of Isla Mujeres.
It has not been ruled out that the woman was involved in the homicide of the male motorcycle taxi driver. A search for the woman continues.
