Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Two people were injured in a two-truck crash on the Continental Mainland of Isla Mujeres Wednesday morning. A transport van carrying passengers was hit by a gas truck while traveling the road to Punta Sam.
One of the injured was 47-year-old Sergio P, the driver of the gas truck. He was located trapped inside his vehicle. Firemen were called to the scene to remove him using the jaws of life. His co-pilot, 32-year-old Roberto C, was also injured in the crash. Both were transferred to hospital.
The private transport van that was hit was carrying four tourists at the time of the accident. All four passengers and their driver were evaluated by paramedics on site and found to have only minor injuries, none of which, required hospital medical attention.
