Cozumel, Q.R. — Reports of an unconscious man inside a parked car lead Cozumel police to a dead body. Island motorists reported seeing the car with someone inside parked on the coastal highway early Thursday.
It was around noon when island officers located the car and its unconscious driver. An ambulance was called, however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Municipal Police Director Luis Taylor González, a section of the southern coastal road was closed while officials removed the body and eventually towed the car.
González said that the 40-year-old man, who was an island resident, did not show any signs of violence or physical injuries and that an autopsy will determine the official cause of death.
