Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A woman was shot to death in the doorway of her home Thursday on Isla Mujeres by men who fled on a motorcycle. The shooting happened on calle Fernando Fernández in the Ampliación La Gloria neighborhood on the island portion of the municipality.
Reports say the woman was shot when she answered her door. Several bullets were fired against her before witnesses say two men on a motorcycle fled the area. Neighbors called Emergency 911 at 6:41 p.m. Thursday, reporting shots fired.
Police and paramedics responded to the call, however, medical personnel were unable to do anything for the victim. She was pronounced on scene. The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Reyna N, originally from the island.
