Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Before the end of the year, Isla Mujeres will have an urban transport service reports Consorcio Empresarial del Sur TPE.
The commissioned company to provide the service is Consorcio Empresarial del Sur TPE, who says they have already begun work to determine the sites on the four routes for which they intend to provide service.
They say it will take approximately two months to complete their field work to offer public transport service along four routes for the insular and continental zone.
They say the first route will have 10 units to cover the center of Isla Mujeres with a 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. schedule and a second route of 20 units from Rancho Viejo to Isla Blanca from 4:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.
The third route will run from Rancho Viejo to the municipal limit and the fourth will offer services from the old road to Punta Sam (El Meco) to Isla Blanca. Each of these routes will have services from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Consorcio Empresarial del Sur TPE obtained the tender for the provision of the urban transport service after Cabildo del Ayuntamiento endorsed the process. The company must hire, under its account, the administrative and operational personnel necessary to provide the service, while the rates will be defined by la Comisión Mixta Tarifaria.
After payment for the service, operators must give the user a ticket that guarantees the user will be covered by insurance while in the public transport vehicle.
