Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — During the latest Who’s Who in Gas Prices report, head of the Federal Consumer Attorney’s Office (Profeco), Ricardo Sheffield Padilla noted Isla Mujeres as being the most expensive in Mexico.
During the Monday morning press conference, Sheffield pointed out that the municipality of Isla Mujeres is currently the most expensive in the country for a liter of regular gasoline.
He specified a gas station located on Avenida Rueda Medina on the island as the most expensive in Mexico, charging 23.50 peso for a liter of regular fuel, a significant increase from the national average of 19.98 peso per liter.
He reported that the Isla Mujeres Pemex gas station is charging the most without respecting the parameters provided by the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE). It is the second time in a row the state of Quintana Roo has been noted as having the most expensive gas in the country. Last week, that title was given to a Pemex gas station in Cancun.
