Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Two men who had disappeared on the mainland of Isla Mujeres have been found dead. The bodies of two men who had disappeared in the Continental Zone of Isla Mujeres earlier this month were found during an operation Wednesday.
Saul de la O Linares, 30 and Javier Linarez Cruz, 28, were located buried in a clandestine grave during a general missing persons search.
They are reported to have been two of three people gone missing on the same day of October 18 from the Continental Zone.
In a brief statement, the State Attorney General (FGE) said “the FGE of Quintana Roo reports the start of an investigation to clarify the facts after the discovery of the body of a male person in the Rancho Viejo neighborhood in the Continental Zone of the municipality of Isla Mujeres.
“The location occurred after a search operation carried out by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Crimes of Forced Disappearance of Persons and Disappearance Committed by Individuals.”
During that search, two bodies were found and have since been publicly identified as the two missing Isla Mujeres men.
