Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Police were called to an area of the El Jabalí neighborhood of Isla Mujeres Friday after a report of a shot body. Area residents on the Continental Zone of Isla Mujeres found the dead body of a man that morning.
Emergency services received the 9-1-1 call at 8:15 a.m. that a person had been found lying in a pool of blood on a dirt road. Municipal police from Isla Mujeres were dispatched to the scene where they confirmed the body.
The deceased male was found lying at the edge of the brush on the dirt road. Paramedics were called to confirm the man was dead. The area was cordoned off while forensics removed the body.
The deceased man is reported to have been around 30 years of age. Additional information has not been made public.
