Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The bodies of a deceased man and woman were located on mainland Isla Mujeres Thursday. Both bodies were found hours apart.
At 2:00 p.m., Municipal Police were sent to an area just off the Circuito Metropolitano highway to look into the report of a dead woman. An area rea resident happened upon the body Thursday afternoon while out collecting wood. The unidentified woman was seen laying in vegetation off a dirt road.
Several hours later, residents of Mar de Cristal, also on the mainland, reported finding the body of a dead man around 6:20 p.m. He was discovered laying in a green area and had been shot.
Both bodies were noted to be in an advanced state of decomposition.
