Isla Mujeres residential improvement projects continue

Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The Government of Isla Mujeres continues with projects that are transforming the lives of Ciudad Mujeres residents. Comprehensive paving and lighting projects such as those being carried out in the La Rancherita neighborhood are part of the ongoing improvements.

Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde said paving is being done on dirt residential streets and public lighting with underground wiring is being introduced in addition to curbs and sidewalks.

“This is a comprehensive project that seeks to improve the urban infrastructure and the quality of life of its inhabitants,” she said.

Atenea Gómez added that with the introduction of an efficient public lighting system, it is expected to strengthen the security of the community, while the new curbs and sidewalks will facilitate safe and accessible transit for all pedestrians.

The Isla Mujeres City Council is carrying out seven paving projects in the Continental Zone, benefiting various neighborhoods. The current projects include Oasis, La Guadalupana, El Centauro, Privanza, El Triunfo, the Prolongación Avenida Rancho Viejo and now also La Rancherita.

Residential areas with dirt streets are being paved.

These actions are part of an ongoing commitment by Atenea Gómez to improve services and infrastructure in every corner of the municipality of Isla Mujeres.

The Mayor and the City Council team appreciate the patience and collaboration of the residents of these neighborhoods during the development of these projects, insisting that the commitment is to continue working to offer a safer and quality environment for all the inhabitants of Isla Mujeres.
