Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The body of a 30 year old man was reported found in the middle of a residential road Thursday morning. Residents in the Las Américas neighborhood on the mainland of Isla Mujeres notified police around 8:00 a.m.
The young man was found laying face down in a pool of blood. He was found still alive when police arrived, however, responding paramedics confirmed he had died at the scene.
Municipal Police officers proceeded to cordon off an area around the crime scene of Rancho Viejo Avenue while the body was removed by the Forensic Medical Service. It was the municipality’s first murder of the New Year. Authorities have not provided details about the identity or cause of death of the victim.
