Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Head of the Isla Mujeres police confirmed the daytime robbery and amount stolen from an island pizza restaurant. Municipal police head Ernesto Hernández Sánchez said the robbery occurred Monday afternoon at Pizza Mike when two subjects aboard a motorcycle arrived.
One of the men got off the bike and produced a firearm, threatening the cashier. The cashier handed over the cash as well as the restaurant’s safe. Hernández Sánchez said the confirmed loss is 30,000 peso.
An official investigation into the broad daylight robbery has begun, which he added, includes a review of some private security cameras, noting the island is without official police city cameras.
