Isla Mujeres, Q. R. — Police officers of Isla Mujeres are now outfitted with personal webcams. Municipal officers were given their new gear Thursday during a ceremony that also recognized officers for outstanding work.
The Government of Isla Mujeres said that elements of Public Security and Transit of Isla Mujeres were provided with new uniforms and bodycams that are to be worn while they are on the job. Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde delivered 320 uniforms and 80 bodycams to officers. She said the cams will be linked to the C2 in order to record their workday. Ricalde said the bodycams will also act as evidence of their actions.
On Thursday, the Mayor also recognized officers for their outstanding work. Those officers were presented with certificates and were from Public Safety and Transit, Geavig personnel (Grupo Especializado de Atención a la Violencia Familiar y de Género) and the Tourist Police.
Ricalde was accompanied by Deputy Julián Ricalde Magaña, tthe director of Public Safety and Transit, Lourdes Espín Alarcón, Senior Officer, Fabiola Vicencio Jiménez, the General Secretary, Hugo Iván Sanchez Montalvo and Councilor Pedro Manuel Palma.
