Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A new Commander of the Isla Mujeres Naval Region has been sworn in. On Monday, Admiral Abraham Eloy Caballero Rosas received the Command of the Ninth Naval Region by delivery from Vice Admiral Martín Enrique Barney Montalvo.
The Ninth Naval Region is located on mainland Isla Mujeres. The change was made during a Monday morning ceremony as part of the permanent rotation of naval personnel.
Isla Mujeres Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde, who accompanied the Admiral, reported on the event. She reported that on Monday, Abraham Eloy Caballero Rosas was inagurated as the new Commander of the Ninth Naval Region.
In a protocol act, at the facilities of the Ninth Naval Region, the corresponding honors were performed and the War Band made a dedication to the new Commander. Mayor Atenea Gómez the congratulated the Admiral on his new assignment.
Admiral Abraham Eloy Caballero Rosas is originally from Tampico, Tamaulipas. He is an expert in strategic intelligence, specializing in senior military management at Sedena, with three master’s degrees, including one in ocean engineering.
