Isla Mujeres mayor announces 20 new social and tourism projects for 2023

Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — At least 20 new projects are set for the municipality of Isla Mujeres during this new year. On Wednesday, mayor Athena Gomez Ricalde announced the 20 projects after a city hall meeting.

In a press briefing she said, “our 2023 Annual Investment Program (PIA) was unanimously approved, which contains the list of public projects that we will carry out this year with our own and federal resources.”

The list of projects, she said, was approved “during the first ordinary session of the Municipal Development Planning Committee (COPLADEMUN) of 2023. Later it was also approved in a Cabildo session.”

With the approval of the Programa de Inversión Anual (PIA) 2023, 20 social and tourist infrastructure public work projects have been approved. Ricalde said the projects will be paid for with “own and 10 with federation resources for the benefit of the inhabitants of Isla Mujeres and the Continental Zone.”

Ricalde did not provide any information on what the upcoming projects are.
