Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A longtime island resident from Italy has been identified as the man shot and killed Thursday night in Isla Mujeres. A nautical service business owner identified as Liam Storm was shot while traveling along an island street Thursday night.
The man, who was said to be around 65-years-of-age, was shot three times in the back after being approached by gunmen while traveling in a golf cart near the Navy of Mexico housing area. He was pronounced at the scene of the shooting.
His body was moved to Forensic facilities where officials will hold him until his family arrive. Liam Storm was of Italian-American nationality.
A motive for the murder has not been established. An investigation by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) continues.
