Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — An Isla Mujeres man out in search of scraps stumbled upon the body of a young deceased male. Alerting Emergency 911, police arrived at the scene around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday where they located the body.
The man was discovered laying off the dirt road Rancho Viejo Avenue on the Continental Mainland of the municipality of Isla Mujeres. In his pocket, police found credentials identifying him as Antonio H. The young man, who is said to be in his 20’s, was found with a severe head injury.
Police did not detail how he might have died or long he had been there before being found. An investigation is underway.
