Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The municipal president of the municipality of Isla Mujeres, Juan Carrillo Soberanis, confirmed that more than 80 surveillance cameras are currently being installed in strategic points around the island and will soon be operational.
Carrillo Soberanis explained that during the first stage, the cameras will be installed in 22 points of Isla Mujeres and at each point there will be a 360-degree-rotating camera in addition to three fixed cameras to cover all the perimeters needed.
The mayor was clear to mention that this is only the first stage, while the second stage will involve another installation of 80 cameras in other areas of the municipality. He said that once installed, all cameras will be interconnected to the C-5 and locally, they will also be connected to a C-2 for immediate reaction.
He said that the C-5 will be monitored by the same Single Command. The surveillance cameras are anticipated to be completed next month.
