Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A warehouse fire at an Isla Mujeres hotel saw guests evacuated Friday night. Municipal officials responded to the report of the fire at Atelier Playa Mujeres on the mainland.
Firemen, police and personnel from the State Coordination of Civil Protection arrived at the site in response to the 11:40 p.m. report. Tourists were evacuated from the hotel and relocated while firemen worked to extinguish flames.
Municipal personnel were back on scene early Saturday morning to inspect. There were no injuries reported in the hotel’s warehouse fire. It is not known how many people were staying at the hotel when the fire happened. Authorities continue to investigate the cause.
