Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — An Isla Mujeres fishermen was left with injuries after being attacked by a man who robbed and assaulted him.
The victim said a man approached him and robbed him of 3,000 peso. Before leaving, he also attempted to steal his motorcycle, however, the fisherman said he tried to fight back, which resulted in his injuries.
The 60-year-old island native was attended to by paramedics who reported an arm fracture along with cuts about his head. He was transferred to the General Hospital. Police also responded to the 911 emergency call of a fishermen being attacked. Authorities say the man was hit with a boat ore, which left him with injuries to his arm, leg and cuts to his face.
He was tended to by colleagues until authorities arrived. There were no arrests.
