Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — An Isla Mujeres development project has been shut down after they were found working during the coronavirus contingency.
Nivardo Fernández Martínez, director of the Urban Development Department of Isla Mujeres says they proceeded to close the construction project located in the El Cañotal neighborhood. Inspectors closed the development “for violating preventative COVID-19 measures.”
He explained that after a tour of the area, they learned that the project was still being developed dispite the closure to all non-essential services. He says for that reason, the corresponding closure and fine were proceeded “due to the situation generated by the contingency of COVID-19 all types of work are suspended.”
