Puerto Aventuas, Q.R. — Authorities from Solidaridad undertook the task of rescuing of a boat that sank while carrying passengers in Puerto Aventuras waters.
The sinking boat was found Friday afternoon, when according to port authorities, help was requested through the boat’s radio after it began sinking. The small vessel was carrying 10 for a tour on the open sea when it began to take on water.
According to reports, passengers on board were transferred to the Puerto Aventuras port without injuries. Crew and passengers were transferred from the boat by navy personnel around noon.
The boat sank due to the strong winds which generated high waves. It was towed to a dock.
