Chetumal, Q.R. — The driver of a private car is being blamed for a two vehicle crunch in Chetumal. Witnesses told police that the driver of the car failed to stop at a marked intersection.
He continued through, slamming into a public combi. Four passengers from inside the public transport unit were left injured. The car was a write off after hitting the side of the van at a high rate of speed.
Paramedics were at the intersection of Laguna Negra Street and Enrique Barrocio to attend to the injured. Chetumal firemen were requested to help remove the combi passengers who were found stuck inside the van.
The car hit the public transport van in its sliding door, jamming it shut. Once the four passengers were freed from the van, they were transferred to a city hospital.
