Chetumal, Q.R. — The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Fight against Corruption (FECC) says they have succeeded in arresting Raúl N, a former public official of the State Quintana Roo, accused of embezzlement.
La Fiscalía Especializada en Combate a la Corrupción (FECC) reports the arrest of the former state public servant. Raúl N was sent to the Centro de Reinserción Social (Cereso) in Chetumal while he waited for his hearing.
On Sunday, Judge Alex Ramón Buenfil Ayala analyzed the evidence presented and granted the request of la Fiscalía Especializada en Combate a la Corrupción (FECC) for the seizure of his property which included a house, a Nissan Pathfinder and fixed capital shares of the company Industrializadora Maderera de Quintana Roo S.A. de C.V. The judge then ordered him released while the FECC completes their investigation.
Raúl Labastida Mendoza, who was head of the State Legal Department during the Roberto Borge administration, was arrested for the alleged crime of embezzlement of more than 1.1 billion peso to the detriment of the public treasury.
