Cozumel, Q.R. — A man identified as a former city official was shot and killed in Cozumel. The shooting happened near the San Gervasio neighborhood just after midnight Wednesday.
Police received the report of shots fired on 130 avenue between Hidalgo and 5 Street South of the San Gervasio neighborhood. After arriving at the scene, uniformed officers located the body of a male laying face down in the street.
Paramedics who responded to the call determined that the man no longer had vital signs. The deceased has been identified as José Manuel “T”, who served as a civic judge from December 1, 2018 to November 27 of this year.
Authorities have not announced arrests or a possible motive for the island’s latest deadly shooting.
